For over two years the boys have been in the recording studio developing a completely new body of work. This 4 song EP entitled GOODBYE CALIFORNIA has been chosen as their début single.

The cover illustration for GOODBYE CALIFORNIA was created by frontman Cory McAbee. The image includes the Soviet associated design elements of the California state flag. The bear featured on the actual state flag is a California Grizzly, a species driven to extinction in the early 1920s.
The title track, GOODBYE CALIFORNIA, is being introduced worldwide in the form of an online music video. It can be seen by clicking on the 4 panel image at www.americanastronaut.com/band/

Excellent work as usual, gentlemen. I look forward to owning the new ep and experiencing live performances of McAbee, Lurie, and co. Hope to see you (and more work) soon.
I just had me a good laugh watching your video! I also just had me a good write about it over at my blog, Magnet Cat. Your Greenpoint comrade, Dan
