WHAT I DID OVER CHRISTMAS VACATION
I spent the Holidays with my wife's family in Wisconsin. On my first day I thought it would be fun to build an igloo with my daughter Willa.
We used a plastic box to build bricks. The snow was powdery and difficult to work with. Willa worked with me for a couple of hours, then went inside. I continued working until the evening.

Around sunset I began building an arch for the doorway. It was a nice arch, but as it grew dark I became impatient and began to rush. It collapsed.

The next day the snow was perfect and I was able to build a handsome igloo.

Just as I had finished it became warm and began to rain. It rained all night and most of the following day.

My igloo stood strong and was intact after the rain stopped, but it was smaller and had a large dent on the South side where the rain and sun had worked it over.

I thought it would be a nice idea to paint the inside with the hope of having a tea party in it with Willa.

The inside was still large enough for two adults to sit comfortably. Amy visited me inside the igloo toward the end of my 3rd day of painting.

The paint froze to the surface of the ice. When it became warm the details on the South wall became blurred. It was only noticeable when the sun shined through the wall.

In the evenings the igloo was lit by candle light. It warmed the interior of the igloo.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm looking forward to getting back to work.
I'll see you in 2010.

Really cool, hey Sting Ray Sam was mentioned in the latest Wired.
Very cool [pun intended]. I like how you made the wall mural in the style of old school wallpaper designs...
This is testament to why you are an incredibly awesome and uber-creative individual whom I cannot wait to meet.
LOVE.

Cory~ your lullaby song is magic. your painted, candlelit igloo is magic. Willa Vy is a lucky girl to grow up surrounded by magic. too little of it in this world. k thx
Magnificent igloo.
I do wish they hadn't broken the mold with you.
This is my favorite post yet - just wish you were all still out in the backyard. :(
